Confirmation

Confirmation at Holly Springs United Methodist is a season when young people begin to make the faith of the church their own. It is more than a class or a ceremony; it is a guided journey of asking questions, learning core Christian beliefs, and listening for God's call on their lives.

During the preparation time, our youth meet with caring leaders who open Scripture, walk through the story of salvation, talk honestly about following Jesus in today's world, and explain what it means to live as a Methodist Christian. No question is off-limits. We encourage students to think, to wrestle, and to speak in their own words about what they believe. Parents and sponsors are invited to be part of the process, praying, encouraging, and joining in a few key gatherings. Along the way, friendships deepen, laughter is shared, and young hearts begin to recognize that they belong to a much larger family of faith.

On Confirmation Sunday, our confirmands stand before the congregation to affirm their baptismal vows, confess faith in Christ, and be received as professing members of the church. It is a moving moment-sometimes with tears, always with deep gratitude-as we lay hands in blessing and pray for the Holy Spirit to strengthen them.

If your student is approaching the age for confirmation, we would be honored to talk with your family about upcoming classes and how this milestone can support their growing walk with Jesus.
