Holy Communion at Holly Springs United Methodist is the quiet center of our worship life, where we gather around Christ's table and remember how deeply we are loved. With simple bread and cup, we remember Jesus' sacrifice, hear again His words of promise, and meet Him in a way that nourishes both heart and soul.
We practice an open table, which means you do not have to be a member of our church to receive Communion. If you are seeking Christ, you are invited. Children and adults come forward together, side by side, as a living picture of the family of God. We offer the elements in a way that is unhurried and respectful, with sensitivity to mobility and dietary needs. As you receive, you may sense the room grow still-the soft music, the quiet steps, the murmur of prayer. It is a time to lay down guilt, anxiety, and weariness, and to hear again that Christ's body was given and His blood was shed for you. We often remind one another that we do not come because we are perfect, but because we are needy and He is gracious.
If you have questions about how Communion works here, or what it means to receive it for the first time, we are glad to talk with you before or after worship. Our hope is that every time you share this meal, you leave with a deeper sense of forgiveness, belonging, and strength for the days ahead.
